About

I am a self-taught silversmith, but now I am a full-time science teacher in an inner-city London school.

ERTSUL was a passion project, and an opportunity for me to express and explore my creativity after my chemistry degree. After much experimentation, and a career change, there was one ring that I would always reach for to wear. That was One.

I figured, if there was one ring that I clearly reached for the most, that must be my favourite, and therefore, perhaps my best ring. Compared to my previous work, One was far less experimental, much more refined, balanced, and a culmination of all of the knowledge and skills I had developed over my years of developing ERTSUL.

Whilst I don’t have much time for jewellery anymore, when the school holidays come around, I always find myself gravitating back towards it. With limited time and resources to spare, it made sense to produce just one ring, and do it well.

Over a year of wearing the original One, I found it incredibly comfortable, easy to wear, subtle yet just intriguing enough, showing signs of craftsmanship and depth.

I have made a few changes since the original ring. Firstly, having it cast out of house, at AA Fine Castings, in Islington, London. Not only does this produce a more refined finish, but it also reduces the cost on my time and energy, as I used to cast all of my rings using in-house using sand. This also allows One to actually be cheaper.

The second change was reducing the size of the sapphires I originally set in the face to 1.5mm instead of 1.75mm. The 0.25mm difference creates a more balanced final product.

One is available in one size. When these sell out, I may offer more sizes.

When these sell out, I may offer more sizes.

Maybe one day, I will offer more designs.

For now, my priority is teaching. Rings will be available as and when they are available.

My hope is that ERTSUL will stand the test of time, known for originality, boldness and honesty. Jewellery-making is a passion of mine and one that I hope to continue with for the rest of my life, and a journey that I look forward to continuing to explore whilst developing the brand.

This is quite a unique position for a jeweller to be in. I do not need to sell rings. I make them and am selling them simply because I want to and I think that this ring is worth selling.

Jewellery is typically a luxury, and as such comes with some of the most lavish and extravagant marketing.

Right now, that’s not what ERTSUL is.

Right now, ERTSUL is One.
